Down but Not Completely Out

I had my wisdom teeth out this week, but I still wanted to share my
newest Cricut Creation using SCAL. I used SCAL and two different fonts
to make a gorgeous Scripture to go under my newest find. I saw this
cross from across the store and immediately knew I had to have it. I
have been wanting a scripture in our living room for a while and was
pleased with the outcome. So pardon my "hopped up on pain meds" post.
I hope you enjoy what will probably be my only share this week.

Die Cut Set

HAPPY CRICUT MONDAY - on Tuesday!
I have tried something new.  I made a set of baby die cuts and little embellishments.  I love playing with graphics and SCAL - and then cutting with the Cricut.  This was a creation using a combination of SCAL and my own graphics program.  The Baby Girl is a font.  I added the shadding as I didn't like the shadow look that is included with SCAL for this particular font.  I designed the flower shape, the pieced rattle, and freehanded the onesie.  The flowers and rattle I embellished with glitter, pens, dootles, etc.  I added a touch of sparkle to the Baby Girl.  The onsie is chalked with a touch of sparkle as well.

Sorry about the photo.  No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the sparkle to look as gorgeous as it does in real life.  I didn't try to hard.  Maybe someday I will re-shoot one.

Gift Set

Besides birthday cards, I get the bible or scripture cards as my next most requested card.  I love it, but it gets hard to get creative with the stamps that I have.  I did add a few scriptures to my SillyLeAnn Designs 2.0 stamp set.  But for these cards I used the Paper Trey Ink "Everyday Blessings" stamp set.  I really like this set of stamps.  I was hoping they would put out a 2nd scripture set.  But, I haven't see one yet.  Anyway, this gift set has 8 coordinating cards.  I really like the subdued color combination and how it turned out with the brown paper.  The pattern papers are by My Minds Eye.  Thanks for looking!

Painting for my Daughter

I am always looking for something new and exciting to do. I love challenges and new things. After painting my daughters room, I really wanted something kid-ish yet mature to put in her room. I don't do kiddie stuff. :) No cartoon themes. I like sophistication with flair. After looking and shopping for endless hours, I had a thought. I could paint her a picture. So, I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a large canvas. This is what I came up with.

I was decently pleased with what developed. So, this is hanging over her bed in her room now. The Bible verse was actually printed on "make your own rub-on paper". So, it is technically a rub-on. You really cannot tell without really looking, but the flash picks it right up.

Oops! I forgot . . .

I made an entire new set of stamps. They arrived a few days ago. I cannot wait to ink them up and share. I'll get some more pics together to update the images from SillyLeAnn Designs Stamps 2.0.
Today's share is another birthday card. I get sooooo many requests for birthday. Enjoy! Do you like the newest SillyLeAnn Designs stamp. I just got my newest designed stamps in and have loved inking them up.

Fun Little Box

As many of you know, I LOVE to give gifts. I love gift sets! I needed something to put some cards into for a card set gift. I racked my brain over and over. This is what I came up with. These boxes are perfect to store cards, envelopes, stamps, etc. Inside each box, I put a set of cards that cordinate with the colors of the box. One box was a mix of cards - birthday, thank you, and so on. The other box was full of notecards that could be used for any occassion. The girls just loved them. I just loved making them and seeing happy faces. :) To make the boxes, I found a paper meche type of box that I painted dots on them. I glued ribbon around them to look like a wrapped present. I made the huge bows that went on top and glued them on. I then cut tags from the Fiskars paper cutting tool (it is the orange templates that you use the sliding cutter). I stamped and inked the tags. Violla! Cute gift box!

FYI - I made these a while back. I ran across the picture and thought it would be great to share. ;)

Happy Cricut Monday!

Here is my latest Cricut creation. I haven't shared a Cricut creation in a while and thought I would showcase a simple, quick, yet totally cute card. If you are in a crunch, find a mild pattern for a back drop. Cut a simple sentiment is a bold color. Done! It is as easy as that. You can add a touch of embellishment, too, if you wish. I added a small jewel on the dot of the i.

My First Vinyl Cut

I saw something similar in some pictures that I was looking at for ideas. They put something like this on their wall and lifted the idea - more or less. I used some random fonts and cut it with SCAL using my Cricut. This was my first vinyl cut with my Cricut. It was AWESOME! I will be doing more. It went on easy-peasy. I have some suggestions to you, though. You will need some sort of transfer medium. I used delicate surface masking tape for this one. I like cutting all the way through the vinyl. Then, I arrange it onto the masking tape. I pull off the vinyl backing and put it on the wall, masking tape and all. Then gently pull the masking tape off of the vinyl letters and it is in place. I put this one in the play room. My son is posing by it climbing on top of the slide.

Edit: I have no idea why this photo is so blurry. I took a quick closeup for you.

Laundry Room

We moved into our house about 3 years ago. I have been moving at a snails pace getting it decorated, painted, etc. I have always wanted to do "something" with the Laundry Room. I love having a dedicated space - as opposed to our walk through laundry room at our old house. So, I made this to spruce up the walls. I haven't painted or anything else, but this helps a little.

I used a frame that I had at the old house and haven't been able to repurpose here. I used digital papers as the mat - I printed them and then used them. The letters are also digital papers that I printed and then cut with my cricut - I used a font on my computer with SCAL. I added a few embellishments to the letters and then adhered them to the page. I drew some clothes in a graphics program and filled them with digital papers as well. I printed them on card stock and then hand cut them. I attached them to the ribbon with staples. Many people say I should have used tiny clothes pins, but I didn't want them to fall off. I also thought the clothes pins would clutter it up so to speak.

Zoo Page Border

I did another swap. It was a zoo themed swap, and I had page borders. This was a very good swap as all the items I received were excellent. I was extremely impressed with everything. I don't really know why I keep participating in swaps. I don't paper scrapbook anymore. It is just so much fun coming up with something that I hope will bless all the participants. This border was such a fun project. It came together so easy from beginning to end.

I had a vision for this almost immediately. This was one of those projects that came out very close to conceptalization.

Fun with my Cuttlebug

I don't post much about my Cuttlebug because of my complete facination with the cricut. But, I still love and use it regularly as well. I mostly use the embossing folders, but on this card I used one of the dies. I highly recommend this as a companion to your electronic cutter. I don't have a huge selection of die cuts and wouldn't use it for alphabets (the cricut is so much easier). But for embossing and quick one cuts, it does the job well.

Fun Card for a Friend

I want to share with you a really fun card that I made. I thought this could work for so many things: birthday, thank you, thinking of you, etc. I love this sassy lady and plan to use her again. I cut it from my cricut and it cuts with a prego belly. I altered it a bit so it could be used for more occasions.

Here Comes Another One Just Like the Other One

I really loved how the colors popped on this one.  It is another birthday card similar to yesterday's share.

I think I will skip posting the others in this same design family.  Look forward to some of my all time favorite cards that I have made coming up soon.

Out of My Creative Box

I totally love leopard print, and I even love cards made with it. I haven't to date really done many cards with Leopard or animal prints at all. So, I broke out my fresh sheets of paper and went to cutting and creating. I was very pleased at how this "Thinking of You Today" card turned out.

Happy Birthday

August was a month full of birthday's and surprises for everyone. And September was no different. I was up to my eye balls in birthdays. Oh, and October doesn't bring any relief. We will have celebrated 10 birthdays just in my immediate family only (also including my DH's family). So, I have a TON of birthday cards to share. :) Fun for you . . . okay and honestly totally fun for me. I throughly enjoy giving gifts. I joke that if I were a millionaire, I would start spending my money and what I could do for others. It is the best feeling to give someone a gift. I am back to making cards and getting ready for the Christmas holidays. I will be getting my Christmas card samples complete by mid-October. Yeah!

I will be honest. I really don't know where most of the stuff on this card came from. :) I know the yellow paper was from Hobby Lobby and the flower is prima.

I made a couple of birthday cards just like this one that I will share off and on. I hope your fall is starting off GREAT!
